Randy
Nix proudly serves the people of District 69 and his fellow
Georgians in the Georgia House of Representatives. He was
sworn in January 8th, 2007 and is currently the Secretary
of Information & Audits as well as serving on other committees.
He is a resident of LaGrange, Georgia and has experience in
finances, banking, military, church, and community involvement.
He enjoys spending time with his family and helping to ensure
that the future of Georgia is bright for future generations
both fiscally and environmentally in his legislation and voting. |
| Nix
graduated from from Troy State University with a B.S. in
Business and is a graduate of Southern Trust School with
advanced studies in financial planning. His business career
included financial services, investments, insurance, and
banking. He was endorsed by the Georgia Republican Party,
Republican Liberty Caucus, and the Rural Caucus.
He serves
on four committees: Banks and Banking, Economic Development
and Tourism, Information and Audits, and Natural Resources
and Environment. As members of the these committees and
the secretary of Information & Audits, Representative
Nix helps to promote good will and benefit the people of
Georgia through enaction of proper laws, conservation, and
legitimate legislation.
He is
a community and political activist. He was a president of
the Boy & Girls Club of West Georgia, a member of the
Rotary Club of LaGrange, and a host of the Community Champions
television program on WGTC. He serves as a local pastor
for his church and has over ten years experience coaching
youth sports.
In addition
to his community and political activities, Nix served in
the Alabama Air National Guard as a Weapons System Officer
flying the RF-4C and was honorably discharged with the rank
of Captain. He was a graduate of the Academy of Military
Science. He also served as a Chaplain's Assistant in the
Army Reserve as a Sergeant.
He and
his wife, Debra, call LaGrange home and are members of the
Hillcrest United Methodist Church. His son, Jess, is an
attorney in Birmingham, and his daughter, Julie, is in the
United States Marine Corps Reserve.
